Osteoporosis Management and Bone Density Evaluation |

Osteoporosis is a silent condition that begins to
affect women more rapidly after menopause. By 60 years of age, many
women suffer silent fractures in the spine that cause significant
back pain. In the late 1970's and 1980's hip fractures incapacitated
women who did not prevent it sooner.
Fracture and the resulting pain can be prevented if proper screening and
treatment is carried on. Mountain View has a DEXA scan machine. Heel
screens are done at no cost on all high-risk women and are followed with
a full DEXA scan when indicated.
The doctors are certified by the International Society for Clinical
Densitometry (ISCD) (www.iscd.org).
They will read a scan and then provide appropriate therapy for at-risk
patients.
If we had a choice, no one would have to break a hip again!
